I believe that learning should be fun so there are free challenges included as part of your membership in The Quilter’s Way. It’s really fun to join the meetings live but if you can’t make it, replays are always available to watch at your convenience. There is always so much helpful information shared in these meetings. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect and chat with other members and share what you’ve been working on. You’ll have the chance to ask specific questions and give other members help and encouragement. We hold regular ZOOM meetings for members. There is also a large “live” component in The Quilter’s Way. Did I mention that we have lots of fun in The Quilter’s Way? Well, we definitely do! In this exclusive, private membership, you can feel safe in forming new friendships and having fun. Of course I’m also in the community area of The Quilter’s Way, providing help and inspiration so if you ever need help, you only have to ask.īeing a community-based membership not only means that there are lots of other members in The Quilter’s Way to help you with your questions and with whom you can share ideas and tips, but it also means that you can make new quilting friends, or quilting pen pals, as I like to call them. In The Quilter’s Way, there are no stupid questions – only questions that will help you move forward with your learning. It’s super easy to ask questions and get answers from the other members and you might make a quilting friend or two. If you are having problems with making a project, you can ask for help during the learning process and resolve those issues right away. The members encourage one another and are always ready to offer suggestions if another member is struggling with their project. In The Quilter’s Way, members work simultaneously on each project so they can keep one another moving forward which ensures that everyone will be successful in learning the technique. Members of The Quilter’s Way enjoy chatting with one another without worrying about negative comments and know that other members are as committed as they are to making progress in their quilting journey. Admission into the Quilter’s Way is moderated so we’re able to control who’s allowed in: only positive, fun, committed quilters. It’s a safe and totally private online group. Unlike a Facebook group, there are no ads, distractions or negativity in The Quilter’s Way. I wanted to ensure the safety of The Quilter’s Way members so I decided it needed to be hosted on a separate, private network. The Quilter’s Way is not hosted on Facebook. There are so many advantages of being a member in The Quilter’s Way but one of the biggest ones is the privacy and security in the membership. The community aspect of The Quilter’s Way is one of the things that members enjoy most. We have a group of helpful members in The Quilter’s Way, who love to share their ideas and knowledge with one another. There are only so many hours in a day and there are so many quilts to make! I don’t mean that we work on miniature quilts (although that might be a technique we learn in the future □) but that the project is large enough to learn the technique without taking you months to complete it. I also believe that this system works best when the project is small. There’s no “my way or the highway” in TQW and members are encouraged to share their ideas and insights on the projects that we work on so we can all learn various methods to accomplish a technique. In The Quilter’s Way, we believe that there are several different ways to do any one technique. It’s not a quilt until it’s quilted and you won’t find the words, “quilt as desired” in The Quilter’s Way.Įvery project includes suggestions for quilting it, often including free motion quilting, ruler quilting, and walking foot quilting options so you’ll never be left wondering how to quilt your project. From cutting to piecing to assembly, all of the projects created in The Quilter’s Way include step by step instructions for every part of the project, including the most creative part (in my mind), the quilting. While we focus on a specific technique in each project, we ensure that you have all the information needed to complete each project from start to finish. Members work together on carefully chosen projects where the goal of that project is on learn a particular technique. ![]() The emphasis on learning by doing reinforces the knowledge and helps you to retain the information so that you’ll be able to apply it to future projects. As a quilting teacher, I’ve learned that the best way to learn a new technique – and remember it – is to make a project with that technique. ![]()
